St. Cloud High School Class of 1995
Last weekend I went to my high school reunion. I didn't really want to go because I hated St. Cloud High. When I was growing up, I attended three different high schools. By the time I went to St.Cloud, I was tired of moving and changing lives. I did well there and I wasn't miserable, but I just didn't feel connected to people the way I did in Connecticut. I decided to go to the reunion purely out of curiosity.
We got there a little late (on purpose) and I got nervous. I knew ahead of time that all the people I hung out with weren't going to be there. I was worried that Phil and I would be sitting alone the entire evening just people watching, and no one would remember me. We walked up to the registration table and received a packet. Inside the packet was our class picture. I looked the same then as I do now!
We ended up sitting with someone I sang with in chorus and was in FCA with. He remembered me and we chatted for a bit. Phil actually got the conversation started because he kept checking his cell phone for football scores. This guy from high school overheard Phil talking at me (yes, talking at me because I tend to tune out all the football talk) about the games, and started to talk to Phil about them.
Then they showed the famous slide show. I wasn't in any of the pictures and neither were any of the band and chorus people. Figures!
I caught up to one of the girls I hung out with a lot. As it turns out, so works for the government as a special agent. She carries a gun everyday! Craziness! Later in the evening, I caught up with a girl I played flute next to in band. She was my biggest competition (even though she probably had no idea). She was one of those natural talents. She was so good that even when she was high, she still played better than me! It always pissed me off. As it turns out, she is now a high school English teacher. We ended up talking for a long time. It was interesting, to say the least. I then caught up with another girl I sang with in chorus. She's doing real well.
The night was so exciting that Phil and I decided to end the evening early. After doing the Electric Slide, finishing my Corona, and saying goodbye to two people, we left. I was asleep on my couch before 11 o'clock that night!
My two favorite quotes of the evening:
1) "Wow! I paid all that money and drove a long way just to see people I never spoke to in high school."
2) "Yeah, we weren't part of the popular crowd. We didn't think it was cool to get drunk in a pasture with the cows."
Go Bulldogs!

Hey this is Jeremy Kleidosty. I hope you're doing well. Sounds like your reunion was a real blast. Elizabeth and I are actually looking forward to ours in 2 years, although maybe it helps that we went there all 4 years. Anyway, hope things are going well at Freedom HS. Check out my new blog address at http://saint-andrews.blogspot.com
God bless and tell everyone hi for me.
